ANSWER:

  • Value of P(-1) is (-3)

GIVEN:

  • P(x)= 4x⁵-3x-5x³+x²-8

TO FIND:

  • Value of P(-1)

SOLUTION:

P(x)= 4x⁵-3x-5x³+x²-8

Putting x = (-1) in P(x)

P(-1) = 4(-1)⁵-3(-1)-5(-1)³+(-1)²-8

P(-1) = 4(-1)+3+5+1-8

P(-1) = -4+9-8

P(-1) = -12+9

P(-1) = (-3)

Value of P(-1) is (-3)

NOTE:

  • This type of question can be solved by putting the values in place of x.
  • In this question it is asked to find the value of P(-1) then we will put (-1) in place of x.
  • In this way we can solve this problem.
