Answer:

 {x}^{2}  - 4x + 3 = 0

p(2) =  {2}^{2}  - 4(2) + 3

p(2) = 4 - 8 +  3

p(2) =  (- 1).............1

p( - 1) =   { - 1}^{2}  - 4( - 1) + 3

p( - 1) = 1 + 4 + 3

p( - 1) = 8...............2

p( \frac{1}{2} ) =  {\frac{1}{2} }^{2}  - 4 (\frac{1}{2} ) + 3

p(  \frac{1}{2} ) =  \frac{1}{4}  - 2 + 3

p( \frac{1}{2}) =  \frac{1}{4} + 1

p ( \frac{1}{2} ) =  \frac{1 +4}{4}

p( \frac{1}{2}) =  \frac{ 5}{4}  ..............3

Now, according to the question

p(2) - p( - 1) + p( \frac{1}{2} )

From eq. 1,2,3

( - 1) - (8) + ( \frac{5}{4} )

 -9+ \frac{ 5}{4}

 \frac{ -31}{4}

Hope it helps...
