If p (x) = x^2 - 4x + 3 then , find the value of p (2) - p (-1) + p (1/2).

answer :

p(x) = X^2 - 4x +3

or, x^2 -(3+1)x +3

or, x^2 -3x - x +3

or, x(x-3) -1( x -3)

or, (x-1)( x-3)

therefore, p(2)= (2-1)(2-3)

=-1

p(-1)= -8

p(0.5) = 1.25

therefore p(2) - p(-1) + p(0.5)

= -1 -(-8) + 1.25

= 8.25 ( Answer)
