take p(1) =1cube-3(1)square+2(1)-3
= 1-3+2-3
=-2-1=-3
now take p(-1)= (-1) cube-3(-1)square+2(-1)-3
= -1-3-2-3=-9
now put value of p(1)+p(-1)
= -3+(-9)=-12
