Answer:

p(x) =  {x}^{2}  - 1 \\  \\  \: now \:  \: p(1) =  {1}^{2}  - 1 = 0 \\ p( - 1) =  { - 1}^{2}  - 1 = 0

p(x) = x² - 1

p(1) = 1² - 1 = 0

p(-1) = (-1)² - 1 = 1-1 =0
