p(x) =  {x}^{2}  - 4x + 2 \\ \\  p(2 -  \sqrt{2} ) \\  =  {(2 -  \sqrt{2} )}^{2}  - 4(2 -  \sqrt{2} ) + 2 \\  = 4 + 2 -  4 \sqrt{2}  - 8 + 4 \sqrt{2}  + 2  \\ = 0

So 2 - √2 is a root of polynomial
