If p(x) = x2 – 4x + 3, evaluate: p(2) – p(-1) + p(1).

Given,

P(x) = x² - 4x + 3

To find,

p(2) - p(-1) + p(1)

Solution,

p(2)= (2)²-4×2+3

= 4-8+3

= -1

p(-1)= (-1)²-4×(-1)+3

= 1+4+3

=8

p(1)= 1²-4×1+3

= 1-4+3

= 0

Final result:-

P(2)-P(-1)+P(1)

= -1-8+0

=-9
