Solution

Given:-

  • Equation p(x) = x² - 4x + 3

Find :-

  • Value of p(1), p(-1) , p(2) : p(-2)

Explanation

For, Calculation Keep one by one value of x .

Case 1.

  • When, x = 1

==> p(1) = (1)² - 4×1 + 3

==> p(1) = 1 - 4 + 3

==> p(1) = 4 - 4

==> p(1) = 0 Ans.

Case 2.

  • When, x = -1

==> p(-1) = (-1)² - 4×(-1) + 3

==> p(-1) = 1 + 4 + 3

==> p(-1) = 8 Ans.

Case 3.

  • When, x = 2

==> p(2) = 2² - 4×2 + 3

==>p(2) = 4 - 8 + 3

==> p(2) = 7 - 8

==> p(2) = -1 Ans.

Case 4.

  • When, x = -2,

==> p(-2) = (-2)² - 4×(-2) + 3

==> p(-2) = = 4 + 8 + 3

==> p(-2) = 15 Ans.
