› ♠ If p(x) = 1, then it means x = 1 in equation ♠

Putting 1 as x in P(x) will give -

x² - 5x + 4

1² - 5 × 1 + 4

1 - 5 + 4

1 - 1

0

• So p(1) = 0

Now putting 1 as x in q(x)

1 × 5 + 1

5 + 1 = 6

According to question

p(1) × q(1)

0 × 6

= 0

Hence the answer is 0
