If p(x) = x2 – 6x + 8, then find the value of p(-1) + p(1) - p (1/2)​

p(x)=x²-6x+8.

p(-1)=(-1)²-6(-1)+8.

=1+6+8. (Because -×-=+).

=15.

p(1)=(1)²-6(1)+8.

=1-6+8.

=-5+8. (Because +×-=- & largest number is important).

=3. (Because -×+=- & largest number is important).

p(1/2)=(1/2)²-6(1/2)+8.

=1/4-6/2+8.

=1/4-3+8.

=4-12+32/4.

=-8+32/4.

=24/4.

=6.

p(-1)+p(1)-p(1/2)=15+3-6.

=18-6.

=12.
