Hey mate

Given here

if p(x) =x²-x-6

find the zeroes of p(x)

Solution :--

p(x)= x²-x-6

= x²-3x+2x-6

= x(x-3)+2(x-3)

= (x+2)(x-3)

so,

Zeroes will be ,

x+2=0, or x-3=0

x= -2, or. x= 3

Thus:--

zeroes of p(x) will be

-2, 3

 {x}^{2}  - x - 6 \\  {x}^{2}  - 3x + 2x - 6 \\ x(x - 3) + 2(x - 3) \\ (x + 2)(x - 3) \\ x + 2 = 0 \: and \: x - 3 = 0 \\ x =  - 2 \: and \: x = 3
