Answer:

|m/n| = 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

given ;

A(-1,2 ) and B(4,2)

ratio =m:n

let the ratio be in the form of k:1

ATQ, p(x,y) divides the line segment AB in the ratio k:1

and satisfies y=x+2

thererfore p(y-2 ,y )

by applying section formula

p(y-2, y) = [4k+1(-1)/k+1 , 2K+2/K+1]

y-2=4k-1/k+1             and                 y=2k+2/k+1

                                                      y=2(k+1)/k+1

 y=2

x=y-2

hence x=0

given ratio k;1 =m;n

=> 4m-n/ m+n =0

4m=n

m/n =1/4 answer
