Here you have to keep in mind about the property of the Y axis which is that x=0 on Y axis.

Ask if any other doubts arise. And if it helps you please mark as brainliest

Coordinates of A and B are : (2,0) and (-2,4).

We have to find the coordinates of P.

Let it be P(0,y)[Because P lies on Y-axis, so x - axis will be 0]

It is said PA = PB

=> √(x₂ - x₁) ² + (y₂ - y₁)² = √(x₂ - x₁) ² + (y₂ - y₁)²

=> √(2 - 0)² + (0 - y)² = (-2 - 0)² + (4 - y)²

Squaring on both sides,

=> 4 + y² = 4 + (4 - y)²

(a - b)² = a² + b² - 2ab

=> 4 + y² = 4 + (4)² + (y)² - 2(4)(y)

=> 4 + y² = 4 + 16 + y² - 8y

=> 8y = 16

=> y = 2

Thus, coordinates are P(0,2)
