G i v e n
- Perimeter of parallelogram is 36 cm
- One side of parallelogram is 10 cm
F i n d
- The other side of parallelogram
S o l u t i o n
- Let the other side of parallelogram be 'x'
We know that ,
➠ P = 2(a + b) ⚊⚊⚊⚊ ⓵
Where ,
- P = Perimeter
- a = side
- b = base
- P = 36 cm
- a = 10 cm
- b = x
⟮ Putting the above values in ⓵ ⟯
: ➜ P = 2(a + b)
: ➜ 36 = 2(10 + x)
: ➜ 10 + x = 36/2
: ➜ 10 + x = 16
: ➜ x = 16 - 10
: : ➨ x = 6 cm
- Hence the other side of parallelogram is 6 cm
Additional information
Area of parallelogram
- b × h

Perimeter = 36 cm
Side = 10 cm
Base = x
P = 2(a + b)
36 = 2(10 + x)
10 + x = 36/2
10 + x = 16
x = 16 - 10
x = 6 cm
