If perimeter of a rectangle is 40 cm and length is
12 cm, then its breadth is

P=2(l+w)

w =  \frac{p}{2}  - l

 =  \frac{40}{2}  - 12

 = 8cm

Perimeter= 2x(l+b)

40= 2x(12+b)

20= 12+b

b= 20-12= 8
