Solution:-
Case 1 :
Let the original side of the square be 'x' cm,
Then the perimeter will be 
= 4 × side 
= 4 × x
= 4x cm
Area of square = side × side 
= x × x
original area = x² sq cm

Case 2 :

If the perimeter is tripled then
Perimeter of square = 3 × 4x = 12x cm
Now, 
The side of the square = perimeter/4
Side = 12x/4
Side of the square = 3x cm 
Area of the square = 3x × 3x
Area = 9x² sq cm
Therefore, if the perimeter of the square is tripled, then the area of the square will be 9 times of the original area.
