base  = \sqrt{ {(hypotenuse)}^{2} -  {(perpendicular)}^{2}  }  \\ base =  \sqrt{ {17}^{2} -  {15}^{2}  }  =  \sqrt{289 - 225}  =  \sqrt{64}  = 8
