Let that 1 person's age be x

Second person's age would be 6+x

Equation would be.....

x+(6+x)=28

= x+6+x= 28

= 2x=28-6

= 2x=22

=x= 22÷2

=x=11

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope this will help you:

Let the second person's present age be x years.

Then according to the condition,

The first person's present age will be x+ 6 years

As the sum of their ages is 28,

The equation will be-

x+x+6=28

2x+6=28

2x= 28-6

2x=22

Now,

x= 22/2.....( dividing by 2)

x= 11

Therefore the second person is 11 years old

Now substituting his age in equation formed earlier

First person= x+6

= 11+6

=17

Therefore first person is 17 years old
