if petroleum,kerosine etc got fire we shouldn't use water to extinguish it?? why plss anwser

If we use water to extinguish oil fire , then the petrol or kerosene will float on water and it will keep burning .It will also get spread.

it's because Petroleum And kerosene oil which is less dense than water. so when water is used to extinguish it the oil floats on water n continues to burn.
