Given - diameter of wheel = 35 cm
= 35/100 m
Distance covered in one revolution = perimeter of the wheel ( circle )
= 2 pi r
= 2 × 22/7 × 35/200
=1.1 m
So distance covered by wheel in one revolution is 1.1 m

Given:

If pi is taken as 22 /7

To Find:

find the distance in meters covered by a wheel of diameter 35 CM in one revolution

Solution:

As it is said that the wheel makes one revolution and we need to find the distance by the covered will be equal to the circumference of the wheel, because when a wheel is making a revolution and it is on the ground then the distance covered is equal to the no of revolution times the circumference of the wheel

The diameter of the wheel is given as 35cm, then the radius of the wheel will be,

r=\frac{35}{2}cm

So now using the formula of the circumference,

C=2\pi r

where,

          r= radius of the circle

Now find the value of the circumference,

C=2*\frac{22}{7} *\frac{35}{2} \\=110cm

Hence, the distance covered by the wheel in one revolution is 110cm.
