plastics wont get decomposed by microorganisms. They can stay up in the soil for long time hindering the biological activities that should take place in the soil. Micro organisms are not efficient enough to remove them. This will decrease the fertility of the soil drastically. The motion of the roots through the soil will be hindered by the plastic that is present inside the soil. Water wont go deep inside the soil so easily if plastic is present there. Decomposition the process wont take place properly.
