Answer:-

Given points => A(3 , - 2) ; B(x , - 2).

Mid point of the line segment = P(4 , - 2)

We know that ,

Midpoint of a line segment joining the points \sf{A(x_1 ; y_1) , B(x_2 ; y_2)} is given by \\\sf{P(a , b) = (\frac{x_1 + x_2}{2} , \frac{y_1 + y_2}{2})}\\

 \implies\sf{P(4 \:  , \: - 2) = ( \frac{3 + x}{2}  \:  \:  \frac{ - 2 - 2}{2}) } \\  \\ \implies \sf{P(4 \:  ,\:  - 2) = ( \frac{3 + x}{2}  \: , \:  - 2) }\\  \\\implies \sf{ 4  =  \frac{3 + x}{2}}  \\  \\  \implies\sf{3 + x = 8} \\  \\  \implies\sf{x = 8 - 3} \\  \\  \implies\sf{x = 5}

Hence, the value of x is 5.
