Given :- If point P lies in second quadrant then x-co-ordinate is (_)and y-co-ordinate is (_).

And if x-co-ordinate is (_) and y-co-ordinate is (_) then point P lies in fourth quadrant.

Answer :-

we know that,

  • In First quadrant Both x and y are positive .
  • In Second quadrant x is negative and y is positive .
  • In Third quadrant both x and y are negative .
  • In Fourth quadrant x is positive and y is negative .

so,

→ When P lies in second quadrant = x coordinate is (-)and y coordinate is (+).

→ When P lies in fourth quadrant = x coordinate is (+)and y coordinate is (-).
