Given height = 6cm.

Given that external diameter of the frustum are d = 5cm and d = 2cm.

Then the radius R = d/2 = 5/2 = 2.5cm. and r = d/2 = 1cm.

We know that l =  \sqrt{h^2 + (R-r)^2}

                          =  \sqrt{6^2 + (2.5 - 1)^2}

                          =  \sqrt{36 + 2.25}

                          =  \sqrt{38.25}

                          = ~6.2cm.

Curved surface area of the frustum =  \frac{22}{7}   * l * (R+r)

                                                            =  \frac{22}{7} * 6.2 * (2.5 + 1)

                                                            = 68.2cm.

Curved Surface area of the hemisphere = 2 \pi r^2

                                                                    = 2 *  \frac{22}{7} * (1)^2

                                                                    =  \frac{44}{7}

Therefore the External surface area = 68.2 +  \frac{44}{7}

                                                             = 68.2 + 6.28571

                                                             = 74.485

                                                             = ~74.5cm^2.

Hope this helps!
