When pottasium permanganate(KMnO

4

) reacted with ferrous amonium sulphate or (Mohr's salt) (FeSO

4

.(NH

4

)

2

SO

4

.6H

2

O) then KMnO

4

will oxidise Fe

+

2 to Fe

+

3 and itself reduces Mn

+

7 to Mn

+

2.

So N factor of Mohr's salt is 5..

Equivalent weight = molecular weight/Nfactor

so equivalent weight of mohr's salt is molecular weight / 5.
