We need to recall the inscribe angle theorem

Inscribe angle in semicircle is always 90^\circ

The area of a right angle triangle is =\frac12 \times \textrm{base}\times \textrm{height}

Area of a circle is \pi \times r^2

Given that,

PR=14

PQ=8

QR=10

The base of the triangle is PQ

And the height of the triangle is QR

The area of the triangle is =\frac12 \times  8 \times 10

                                           =40 cm^2

The area of the circle is =\pi r^2

                                      =\frac{22}{7} \times (\frac{14}{2})^2

                                     =\frac{22}{7} \times 7^2

                                     =154 \textrm{cm}^2

The area of the shaded region is

=(154-40) cm^2

=114cm^2

Answer:

The area of the shaded region is 114cm^2. So option (c) is the corret answer.
