The speed of sound is dependent on pressure as well as temperature of the medium.

I we take medium as air, while keeping the temperature constant .that means we have an iso -thermal compression of air.

In such case pressure is directly proportional to the square of speed of sound in air .

Thus speed of sound is proportional to the square root of pressure.
