★ Given,

  • Price of toothpaste reduced from 25 to 17.
  • Find decrease Percentage.

⠀⠀

Initial price of toothpaste = 25

Price of toothpaste after reduced = 17

Decrease in price = 25 – 17 = 8

⠀⠀

★ Formula using here,

{\sf { \purple{ \boxed{ \sf Percentage \: decrease = \frac{increase}{original \: value} \times 100\%}}}}

On Substituting the values, we get

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;percentage\;decrease=\;\bf{{ \sf{\dfrac{8}{25} \times 100\%}}\:}}\end{gathered}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;percentage\;decrease=\;\bf{{ \sf{\dfrac{800}{25}}}\:}}\end{gathered}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;percentage\;decrease=\;\bf{{ \sf{{32\%}}}\:}}\end{gathered}

\begin{gathered}\\\;\sf{:\rightarrow\;\;C.P.\;=\;\bf{{  \bigg( \frac{S.P. \times 100}{(100 + gain\%)} \bigg)  }\:}}\end{gathered}
