Given:

If principal = Rs 8000, period = 5 years, rate = 7 p.c.p.a

To find:

The simple interest and amount

Solution:

The sum of money, P = Rs. 8000

The rate of interest, R = 7 % p.a.

The no. of years, T = 5 years

We know,

\boxed{\bold{Simple \:Interest = \frac{P\times R \times T}{100} }}\\\\\boxed{\bold{Amount = Principal + Simple \:Interest }}

By using the formula above, we get

The simple interest is,

= \frac{8000\: \times \:7 \: \times \: 5}{100}

= 80\: \times \:7 \: \times \: 5

= \bold{2800}

and

The amount is,

= 8000 + 2800

= \bold{10800 }

Thus,

\boxed{\bold{Simple\:Interest \rightarrow \underline{Rs. \:2800} }} \\\\\boxed{\bold{Amount \rightarrow \underline{Rs. \:10800} }}
