Answer:

Probability of an event occuring + probability of an event not occuring = 1

P(e) + P'(e) = 1

0.4 + P(e) = 1

P(e) = 1 - 0.4

P(e) = 0.6

Answer:

let the sum of probability of occuring and non occuring of an event be 1

p(e)+p(e')=1

0.4 +p(e')=1

p(e')=1-0.4

p(e')=0.6
