Heya !!!

This is Your Answer..

Given :-
P (Success) = 0.05%
then P (failure) = ?
We know that P( not E) = 1 - P (E)
= 1 - 0.5%
= 0.5%

Hence, the probability of failure is 0.5%.

The probability of failure is 0.995.

Given,

The probability of success is 0.5%.

To Find,

The probability of failure.

Solution,

The method of finding the probability of failure is as follows -

In mathematics when an event is going to happen surely, the probability of that event is 1 and if an event is impossible to happen, the probability of that event is 0.

We know that the total probability of happening two mutually exclusive and exhaustive events is always 1.

Here, success and failure are two mutually exclusive and exhaustive events.

Let us denote the probability of success as P(s) and the probability of failure as P(f).

Here, P(s) = 0.5 % =\frac{0.5}{100} =\frac{5}{1000}=\frac{1}{200}=0.005.

So, p(s) + P(f) = 1

0.005 + P(f)=1

P(f)=1-0.005=0.995

Hence, the probability of failure is 0.995.
