Answer:

2400

Step-by-step explanation:

Profit Percentage is Profit/CP

So CP = Profit/Profit%

CP = 400/20% = 400×100/20 = 2000

SP = CP + Profit = 2000 + 400 = 2400

Given :-

♦ Profit Percentage = 20%

♦ Profit = Rs. 400

To find :-

♦ The Selling Price

Solution :-

Given that

Profit Percentage = 20%

Profit = Rs. 400

We know that

Profit = Selling Price - Cost Price

=> 400 = Selling Price - Cost Price

=> SP - CP = 400

=> SP = 400+CP

=> CP = SP - 400 ---------(1)

We know that

Profit Percentage = (Profit/CP)×100

On substituting these values in the above formula then

=> 20 = [400/(SP-400)]×100

=> 20/100 = 400/(SP-400)

=> 1/5 = 400/(SP-400)

On applying cross multiplication then

=> SP-400 = 5×400

=> SP-400 = 2000

=> SP = 2000+400

=> SP = 2400

Answer :-

The Selling Price is Rs. 2400

Used formulae:-

Profit = Selling Price - Cost Price

Profit Percentage = (Profit/CP)×100
