\frac{5x - 10} {x - \sqrt{2} }

= \frac{5{\cancel{x} - 10}} { {\cancel {x} } -\sqrt{2} }

= \frac{5- 10} { -\sqrt{2} }

= \frac{-5}{- \sqrt{2}}

= \frac{\cancel{-} 5}{\cancel{-} \sqrt{2}}

= \frac{5}{\sqrt{2}}

remainder is \frac{5}{\sqrt{2}}
