Answer: 13 : 25 : 22

Step-by-step explanation:

consider

-----> (Q - p) = 17

       (p+q+r)/(2) -p = 17            since ((p+q+r)/(2))

       p+q+r-2p = 34

       -p+q+r = 34 --------------------(1)

------> (Q-q) = 5

         (p+q+r)/(2) -q = 5

         p+q+r-2q = 10

         p-q+r = 10 ---------------------(2)

------->(Q-r) = 8

         (p+q+r)/(2) -r = 8

          p+q+r -2r = 16

          p+q-r = 16 ---------------------(3)

solve 1 & 2

          -p+q+r = 34

           p-q+r =  10                  (cancel -p +p and +q -q)

-----------------------------------

                  2r = 44

                    r = 22                 ------> we got " r " value

-----------------------------------

solve 2 & 3

         p-q+r =  10

         p+q-r = 16                     (cancel -q +q and+r -r)

----------------------------------

         2p      = 26

           p      = 13                      -------> we got " p " value

-----------------------------------

solve 1 & 3

          -p+q+r = 34

           p+q-r = 16                  (cancel -p +p and +r -r)

-----------------------------------

              2q   = 50

                 q  = 25                 -------> we got " q" value

-----------------------------------

hence p:q:r = 13:25:22

short cut :- IN THE QUESTION THEY ARE PROVIDED

17:5:8

consider  p=17,q=5,r=8

p= 5+8 = 13, q= 17+8 = 25, r= 17+5 = 22

p:q:r = 13:25:22
