assume Q is the centre of the circle

CB is cord

QAB is a triangle

let us assume that the A is the point is dividing the CB equally.

therefore CB = CA + AB and also CA = AB ( in length)

now,

by phythogoras theorem

QB² = AB² + QA²

5² = AB² + 3²

25 = AB² + 9

25 - 9 = AB²

16 = AB²

AB =√16

AB = 4

Since AB = CA

CA = 4

The length of CB = CA + AB

= 4 + 4

= 8
