if R is a relation in set N given by R = {(a,b) : a = b - 3, b > 5} , then does element (5,7) belongs to R?​

Answer:

No, (5, 7) does not belong to

relation R.

Given,

R = {(a, b) : a = b - 3,b> 5}

From (5,7), a = 5 and b = 7

b -3 = 7 - 3

= 4 which is not equal to a i.e 5

I.e. a is not equal to b-3

Therefore, (5,7) does not belong to relation R.
