\sf {We\ know\ that,\ the\ volume\ of\ the\ sphere\ is\ given\ by,\ V = \frac{4}{3}\pi r^{3}}

Where 'V' is the volume of the sphere and 'r' is the radius of the sphere.

Volume of the sphere is inversely proportional to cube of the radius of the sphere.

When the radius of the sphere is reduced by 2 times, then the volume equation becomes,

\sf {V = \frac{4}{3}\pi\frac{r}{2}^{3} = \frac{1}{8}\times \frac {4}{3}\pi r^{3}  }

Hence the volume decreases by 8 times.
