Given :  radius of the circle is 7cm

∠AOB = 90°

To Find : area of the shade region

Solution:

Area of Shaded region = Area of circle - Area of ΔAOB

Area of circle  =  πr²

= π (7)²

= (22/7) 7²

= 154 cm²

ΔAOB is right angle triangle as ∠AOB = 90°

Area of ΔAOB = (1/2) * OA * OB

= (1/2) * 7 * 7

= 24.5 cm²

Area of Shaded region = 154 -  24.5  cm²

= 129.5  cm²

Area of Shaded region  = 129.5  cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of shaded portion=Area of sector-Area of Right angled triangle.

Area of sector=

4

π×(7cm)

2

=38.5cm

2

Area of triangle:

2

1

×(7cm)×(7cm)=24.5cm

2

Thus Area of shaded portion=(38.5−24.5)cm

2

=14cm square
