Answer:

Rain is falling vertical with speed = 30m/sec , and woman rides North to South 10m/s .

let north to south direction is in j- component .

and rain fall in K component

we know, for rain- fall concept ,

velocity of rain = - 30k

velocity of woman = -10 j

then, relative velocity of rain with respect to womain = velocity of rain - velocity of woman = -30k -(-10 j ) = 10j -30k

j is positve

and K is negative

rain fall wrt woman is

north to below direction so,

umbrella should be put by woman in South to above direction

at an angle is tan-¹( 1/3)

Explanation:

Speed of person = 10m/s¹

Speed of cycle = 20m/s¹

Velocity of rain?....

Distance = 1m

So, displacement also.

Velocity = 20m/s

and at angle tan = ⅓
