Raju's speed,

x =  \frac{40}{5}

x = 8

shalu's speed,

y =  \frac{36}{4}

y = 9

therefore,

ratio,

 =  \frac{x}{y}

 =  \frac{8}{9}

=8:9

In case of Raju,

 \bold{=> Speed= \dfrac{Distance}{Time}}

 \bold{=> S= \dfrac{40}{5}}

 \bold{=> S= 8 \: Km{h}^{-1}}

Again,

In case of Shalu,

 \bold{=>S'= \dfrac{D}{T}}

 \bold{=> S' = \dfrac{36}{4}}

 \bold{=> S' = 9\: Km{h}^{-1}}

Ratio,

 => \dfrac{S}{S'} = \dfrac{8}{9}

 => \bold{S:S' = 8:9}
