Given,

Rashmi incomes 60% more than Shalu.

To find,

The percentage, by which Shalu's income is less than Rashmi.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Let, Shalu's income = Rs. x

Rashmi's income = x + (x×60/100) = x + 3x/5 = Rs. 8x/5

So,

Rashmi and Shalu's income difference = 8x/5 - x = Rs. 3x/5

Percentage by which Shalu's income is less than Rashmi = 100 × (3x/5 ÷ 8x/5) = 100 × 3x/5 × 5/8x = 37.5%

Hence, Shalu's income is 37.5% less than Rashmi.
