Your body may increase red blood cell production to compensate for any condition that results in low oxygen levels, including: Heart disease (such as congenital heart disease in adults) Heart failure. A condition present at birth that reduces the oxygen-carrying capacity of red blood cells (hemoglobinopathy).

More RBC production occurs when oxygen level reduces in the body. Eg:- If you visit Any hill station, you don't feel good, and have tiredness. It is due to low oxygen content. Because of this, your kidney squeezes on to the spleen to bring about the release of RBCs which then compensates the oxygen level, bringing you back to normal.

If RBCS increase in our blood then it is good for us because it helps in transporting of oxygen but if there division increased then it may cause cancer heart failure etc. So mateRBCS ARE good but their excess division is threat towards our life
