if refractive index of glass is 1.5 and that of water 1.33 then , find the angle of refraction if a ray incident on the water glass interface at an angle 30° .​

Answer:

n1sin i=n2sin r.

Here, n1=1.333, the refractive index of water and

n2=1.5, the refractive index of glass.

i=30^o.

Now, sin r=(n1/n2)sini or

sin r=(1.333/1.5)(1/2), because sin 30 degree is 1/2

So, sin r=(1.333/3)=0.444 or

r=sin^-1(0.444).
