Solution :

Given that,

Relative error = 0.5

Absolute error = 20

We know that,

Relative error
= Absolute error / Actual value

0.5 = 20 / Actual value

Actual value = 20 / 0.5

= 20 × 10 / 5 = 20 × 2

= 40

Hence,

The actual value is 40

Answer:

Given :

  • Relative error = 0.5
  • Absolute error = 20

To Find :

  • Actual value

Formula :

  • Relative error = Absolute error/Actual value

Solution :

Relative error = Absolute error/Actual value

0.5 = 20/Actual Value

Actual Value * 0.5 = 20

Actual Value = 20/0.5

Actual Value = 200/5

Actual Value = 40

_____________

Lets find out percentage error in this situation too.

Percentage error = Relative error * 100%

So, the percentage error in this situation = 0.5 * 100 = 50%
