 \large\bf\underline {To \: find:-}

  • We need to find the sides.

 \large\bf\underline{Given:-}

  • if right angled triangle ,if hypotenuse is 20cm and the ratio of the other two sides is 4:3

 \huge\bf\underline{Solution:-}

  • Hypotenuse = 20cm
  • Ratio of two sides = 4:3

Let the two sided be 4x and 3x

By using Pythagoras theorem:-

Hypotenuse² = base² + perpendicular²

➛ (20)² = (4x)² + (3x)²

➛ 400 = 16x² + 9x²

➛ 400 = 25x²

➛ x² = 400/25

➛ x² = 16

➛ x = √16

➛ x = 4

So

The other two sides are 4x and 3x

  • ❥ 4x = 4 × 4 = 16cm
  • ❥ 3x = 3 × 4 = 12cm

⏺️Verification:-

By Pythagoras theorem:-

  • h² = b² + p²

➛ 20² = 16² + 12²

➛ 400 = 256 + 144

➛ 400 = 400

LHS = RHS

hence Verified .

So, Length of both sides 16cm and 12cm is correct ✔
