If Rohan starts driving from a point towards north & after he has covered 4 kms he turn to his left side
and drive 5 km, and then again turn to his left end and walk 11 km and then turn to left again and walk
another 8 km and before finishing he takes another left turn & walk 3 km, then find the minimum distance
from his starting point to the final point.

Answer:

5kms

Step-by-step explanation:

On the right you can see the directions and on the left the route travelled by Rohan.

  1. So first Rohan travelled AH =4KM and then takes left to travel HG =5KM.
  2. He again takes a left turn to travel GF=11kms and then again a left to travel FE=11kms.
  3. At last he takes again left to travel EC=3kms and stops there.
  4. Now here we will get answer by using the Pythagoras theorem on the the triangle ABC.
  5. SO we will get length of AB by using rectangle GHDF (OPPOSITE SIDE) SO AB = 4kms
  6. To get BC we will use rectangle BCED (OPPOSITE SIDE)
  7. Now we have AB and BC both so apply Pythagoras theorem
  8. We get AB²+BC²=AC²
  9. So 4²+3²=AC²
  10. And now 16+9=AC²
  11. And now 25=AC²
  12. By taking square root on both the sides we get
  13. AC=5km
  14. Note :here the starting point is A and ending point of Rohan's travel is C.
