Answer:

The value of \frac {1}{(1-\sqrt 2)}=-2.415

Solution:

Given,

The value of \frac {1}{1-\sqrt2}

We know that the value of \sqrt2 is 1.414

By substituting the value of \sqrt2 in the given value, we get,

\begin{aligned} \frac { 1 } { 1 - \sqrt { 2 } } & = \frac { 1 } { 1 - 1.414 } \\\\ & = \frac { 1 } { - 0.414 } \\\\ & = - 2.415 \end{aligned}

The value of \frac {1}{(1-\sqrt 2)}=-2.415

For simpler calculation, we can take the round off value of -0.414 as -0.4

Hence, we get,

\begin{array} { c } { \frac { 1 } { 1 - \sqrt { 2 } } = \frac { 1 } { - 0.414 } } \\\\ { = \frac { 1 } { - 0.4 } } \\\\ { = - \frac { 10 } { 4 } = - 2.5 } \end{array}

There will be 0.1 variation in the above two values.

Hence, the correct value will be - 2.415.
