Given eqn is quadratic eqn
We know that ,
α+β=-( coefficient of x)/( coefficient of x²)=-b/a
αβ=c/a=16/1=16
so ,α+β=p
squaring both sides
(α+β)²=p²
(α²+β²)+2αβ=p²
9+2×16=p²
41=p²
√41=p
