⟹ α + β = 0

 \frac{ - b}{a} = 0 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: b = 0

⟹ αβ < 0

 \frac{c}{a} &lt; 0 \: ....(1) \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  c &lt; 0 \:....(2)

From (1) and (2) :

a &gt; 0
