If roots of a quadratic equation are real,distinct and rational then discriminant

B^2–4AC>[math]/=0[/math] and perfect square

49–24k>/=0 and 3n or 3n+1

49–24k>/=0

k>/=49/24=2.041(approximately)

For n=1

k=3 or 4

For n=2

k=6 or 7

Answer:

given

equation is 6x^2-7x+k=0

let a,b are the roots and a=b

sum of the roots

s1=a+b=7/6

=>2a=7/6

=>a=7/12

s2=ab=k/6

=>a^2=k/6

=>(7/12)^2=k/6

=>49/24=k

there fore k=49/24
